John P. Gassler, M.D.

Dr. Gassler

Dr. Gassler completed his Fellowship in Coronary and Peripheral Vascular Interventions in June of 2002 and joined the faculty of the University of Rochester as a Senior Instructor in July of 2002. His clinical roles include coronary and peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, as well as attending in the Cardiovascular Center.

 

Dr. Gassler is involved with teaching coronary and peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures to the general and interventional cardiology fellows. He is certified to perform balloon angioplasty, stenting, rheolytic thrombectomy, rotational atherectomy, directional atherectomy, intravascular ultrasound, Doppler flow, and pressure measurements.

 

Dr. Gassler’s research involves single and multicenter clinical trials. His particular interests include stent restenosis, microvascular perfusion, and high risk angioplasty, including acute coronary syndrome and multivessel coronary disease patients.
