Leway Chen, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Chen

Dr. Chen came to the University of Rochester in 1999, after completing his cardiology fellowship and Masters in Public Health at the University of Washington and a Health Services Research & Development fellowship at the VA Puget Sound Health Care Center (Seattle VAMC). He completed his internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1994, and then spent one year doing cardiovascular research at the Framingham Heart Study.

 

His current research interests are in cardiovascular health services and outcomes measurements, including quality of life instruments. He manages the "Comprehensive Outcomes Measurement Program" (COMPS) at Strong Memorial Hospital. He also works with Dr. Arthur Moss and the cost effectiveness and quality of life components of the "MADIT-II" trial. Current clinical duties include nuclear cardiology and an attending on the coronary care unit. He is the Director of the Program in Heart Failure and Transplantation.
